The Marais quarter is woven from reminders of the Middle Ages and permeated with aristocracy, although not only those close to the French king lived here. During our excursion you will hear a story about the Knights of the Templar Order - the creators and subsequent inhabitants of this quarter, about their secrets and unsolved mysteries. You will look at old Paris through the eyes of the heroes of Alexandre Dumas and Victor Hugo, and climbing to the roof will give you an amazing view of the entire city.

Throughout its existence, Marais sheltered the Templars, the prisoners of the Bastille, ministers and courtiers of French kings, ministers of secret societies, Jews and creative personalities. You will see the elegant mansions of the Parisian nobility and Masonic temples, visit the Place des Vosges - the oldest in the city - and find out where the most famous prison of the French capital was located. During a tour of the Marais, we will talk about how the quarter developed, remembering its inhabitants, be Queen Margot or the writer Victor Hugo. By the way, according to Dumas’s idea, one of the main characters of “The Three Musketeers” also lived in Hugo’s house.

This excursion will not only introduce you to the main attractions of the Marais, but will also allow you to feel the spirit of the old quarter. Thanks to the Jewish community, you'll come across many cafés selling falafel, with noisy queues forming for the delicacy. The Marais' reputation as a creative area is confirmed by its cluster of designer boutiques. And it became also the center of the very lively LGBT-Community in Paris.

After going around the main points of the quarter, you will climb onto one of the roofs of the Marais and from there you will see: the Montmartre hill and the snow-white Sacré-Coeur basilica, the Arc de Triomphe, the Opera Garnier, the Eiffel Tower and much more!
